About the place

Zelateria began in 2011 with pastry chef Ana Consulea's idea of bringing Romanian patisserie back to life. She trained in France, with an apprenticeship at Maison Vergne in Montbéliard, and opened her first workshop in 2014. In 2016 Zexe Braserie opened at Aviatorilor 65; since 2024 it has been called Zelateria – Braserie. Since 2020 the patisserie has also run Zelato, its ice-cream stand in King Michael I Park.

The counter holds old Romanian cakes such as Regina Maria, Carmen Sylva, Take Ionescu and George Enescu, the pre-1989 patisserie classics amandina, savarina and Carpați, as well as tarts, loaf cakes and sugar-free cakes. The brasserie serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. On Google, reviews most often mention the cakes and the pleasant atmosphere, and some also praise the food, such as the cauliflower soup; a few find the desserts too sweet or complain about the service.
