About the place
The park was designed by the architect Valentin Donose on the site once called Valea Plângerii, used from 1940 as the city's rubbish tip. Landscaping began in 1965 and ended in 1974. Differences in level of up to 16 m were shaped around Tineretului Lake, which covers 13 hectares.
The paths run round the lake and over islands and small bridges. The park has large playgrounds and the Orășelul Copiilor children's park, and it also holds the National Children's Palace and the Ioan Kunst Ghermănescu sports hall. In spring and autumn the lake is a stopover for migrating birds.

- Bellu Cemetery borders the park to the south-west, and the Volare Piccola pizzeria is less than 1 km away on Calea Văcărești.
